Hey there, I'm Martina and I welcome you to the #ThroughMyEyes initiative, research conducted by Rythmik. The initiative aims to capture the experiences and perspectives of talent in their 20's in the workplace.
I'm a digital representation of the people who took part in the research. My hope is that by sharing our story, we can inspire leaders to create inclusive, innovative, and supportive workplaces that can attract and retain the next generation of talent.
Here is our story #ThroughMyEyes
Rythmik is a global consultancy, based in Switzerland, specialising in the future of working and employee experience. They help organisations take steps to improve employee experience, creating workplaces where employees are happy, motivated and productive.
Rythmik believes that there is a gap between the expectations of talent in their 20's and the reality of what they encounter in organisations. Through the #ThroughMyEyes initiative, Rythmik aims to support leaders with insights to help create inclusive and sustainable work environments that benefit everyone.
TALENT IN THEIR 20's
If you were asked to describe the generation of talent in their 20's, what would you say?
If you don't know, don't worry. The #ThroughMyEyes initiative was designed to provide insights on what matters most to us.
I'm excited to take you through who we are, what we value and what organisations need to do to attract and retain us. So lets get started...
MORE ABOUT TALENT IN THEIR 20's

RESEARCH SPANNING ACROSS FOUR CONTINENTS
Rythmik conducted one-on-one interviews, surveys and aggregated research from more than 3000 people across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Australia.
FIRST, LET'S CHAT
Hey! Good to see you here!
I'm about to share some information about my generation with you.
Before I do so, tell me about you... what's your first name?
Great, lovely to meet you Ruairi!
The twenties are a crucial decade for many of us. It is the time to explore career paths, build relationships, discover new passions and develop our talents.
While our backgrounds and interests may differ, we certainly share particular traits. Here are some of the most important ones... hover over the tiles to find out more!
We are true to ourselves and our values. We believe in honesty and transparency, and we always strive to be genuine in our interactions with others. We are not afraid to speak our mind and share our opinions.
We are always looking for new opportunities and ways to innovate. We enjoy taking risks and trying out new ideas. We believe that entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business, but also about having a mindset that values creativity and innovation.
We strive to constantly improve and excel in our work. We set high goals for ourselves and work hard to achieve them. Our ambition and passion drives us to learn new skills and take on new challenges.
We value practicality and common sense. In today's rapidly changing world of work, we understand the importance of being flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the businesses. We believe that a workplace that offers flexibility in terms of working hours, remote work options, and work-life balance is essential for success.
We are not afraid to take on challenges or push ourselves out of our comfort zone. We believe that growth and development come from stepping outside of what is familiar and comfortable. We are willing to take risks and try new things to find our passion, even if it means facing uncertainty and potential failure.
WHAT WE VALUE THE MOST IN THE WORKPLACE
Considering that we dedicate such a significant portion of our lives to work, we strongly believe that it is crucial to have a passion for what we do. There are certain aspects of our work that hold great significance to us, and it is vital that we maintain a sense of authenticity in the workplace.
But tell me, do you want to know what we value the most in the workplace?
Excellent, let me share with you below, just hover over the circles!
Yes for sure!
We want to earn a good salary so we can have a good quality of life. It's also important that we benefit from things such as healthcare and pension contributions.
We prioritise coming into the office when it's necessary. However, mandated days in the office can be counterproductive and indicate a lack of trust from leadership. We believe in a flexible work environment that values productivity over presence.
We work to live, not live to work. Work is a core part of our lives and we believe that work should enhance our lives rather than define it.
In a world where you can be anything be kind: kindness should be at the core of all interactions, especially in the workplace where it can have a positive impact on the entire team.
A simple thank you goes a long way. We are happy to work hard, to put in the long hours sometimes. But gratitude and appreciation goes a long way in making us feel valued and appreciated for our efforts. It shows that our hard work hasn't gone unnoticed.
WHAT KEEPS US AT OUR CURRENT ORGANISATION
There's one thing that our generation is not afraid of: trying new things. If we are not happy at work, we will seek opportunities elsewhere. Check out what will keep my peers and I at our existing organisations...
“My team and I are the most qualified to decide when we should be in the office versus at home. I don’t want to work for a company that has a company-wide office policy. Flexible companies will have the power.” - Robert
“I appreciate it when my manager gives me autonomy in my work but also check’s in and offers support. For my growth and development, timely feedback is crucial.”
“It speaks volumes when leaders actively seek out feedback from their team members and take meaningful steps to address concerns or suggestions.” - Amar
“I want to work for a company that's upfront about everything: progression, pay, role details, hiring, benefits and leadership decisions. I want to trust the company I work for.” - Sylvie
“Companies that embrace new technologies excite me. I want to be in a company that is forward-thinking and willing to explore. Always striving for better.” - Arnault
Thank you for listening to me. I enjoyed our chat. Hopefully you found it useful to get to know about my generational peers and I.
